Carl Rogers & the Core Conditions/ The therapeutic alliance

MODULE 3: CORE COUNSELLING SKILLS 1

Attending, active listening, and reflection / Summarising, paraphrasing, and probing questions

MODULE 4: CORE COUNSELLING SKILLS 2

Managing silence, immediacy, and empathy depth/ Non-verbal communication & cultural context

MODULE 5: COUNSELLING APPROACHES 1- HUMANISTIC AND EXISTENTIAL

Person-centred counselling/  Existential perspectives: meaning, freedom, responsibility

MODULE 6: COUNSELLING APPROACHES II–CBT BASICS

Introduction to cognitive theory & case formulation/ Behavioural experiments & thought records.

MODULE 7: COUNSELLING APPROACHES III- PSYCHODYNAMIC AND SYSTEMIC

Basic psychodynamic concepts (unconscious, defence mechanisms)/ Systemic & family therapy perspectives

MODULE 8: APPLICATIONS 1: ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION

Counselling for anxiety (techniques, boundaries)/ Counselling for depression (supportive, behavioural activation)

MODULE 9: APPLICATIONS II- ADOLESCENTS AND YOUTH

Developmental considerations, identity, stress/ Counselling for academic stress, peer issues, and social media

MODULE 10: APPLICATIONS III- RELATIONSHIPS AND WORK

Couples & relationship counselling basics/ Workplace stress & burnout

MODULE 11: TRAUMA INFORMED COUNSELLING AND CRISIS

Understanding trauma & resilience/ Suicide risk assessment, crisis intervention, referrals

MODULE 12: INTEGRATION AND ASSESSMENT

Reflective practice, journaling, supervision/ Case presentations, skills demonstration, feedback, closing.
